The SOUTHWIRE 1707 is a one-hole steel conduit strap designed for securing rigid metal conduit (RMC) and electrical metallic tubing (EMT) to structural surfaces. This strap provides a firm, low-profile mount point for 2.5-inch conduit runs in commercial and industrial electrical installations. The steel construction delivers the mechanical strength required for conduit support in demanding environments. Electricians use this strap during rough-in work to keep conduit aligned and anchored to walls, ceilings, studs, or concrete blocking at the intervals required by the NEC.
The 1707 strap is suited for 2.5-inch RMC and EMT installations in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and infrastructure projects. It is installed by licensed electricians and apprentices as part of a conduit support system during electrical rough-in. One-hole straps are commonly used where a clean, minimal-profile mount is preferred or where spacing constraints make two-hole straps impractical.
Designed as an OEM-style support fitting for 2.5-inch rigid metal conduit and EMT systems in commercial and industrial electrical installations.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC conduit support spacing requirements. Power down all circuits in the work area before securing conduit near existing wiring. Use the appropriate fastener for the mounting surface, whether wood, metal framing, or concrete. Do not overtighten the mounting fastener in a way that deforms the strap or distorts the conduit.
