The SOUTHWIRE 1667 is a bang-in style insulated throat bushing designed for use with 2.5-inch EMT (electrical metallic tubing) conduit. This fitting snaps into the end of EMT conduit to protect wire and cable insulation from sharp metal edges at conduit terminations. It is a standard component in commercial and residential electrical installations wherever EMT conduit ends need to be dressed before conductors are pulled. Electricians install this bushing as part of code-compliant wiring practice to prevent abrasion damage to conductor insulation at box and panel entries.
This bushing is suited for use in electrical rough-in work, panel terminations, junction box entries, and conduit stub-outs where 2.5-inch EMT is used. It is a common consumable on commercial, industrial, and residential job sites. The snap-in design eliminates the need for threading or additional hardware, making terminations fast during high-volume rough-in work.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for use with 2.5-inch EMT conduit systems in standard electrical installations.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians in accordance with NEC requirements for conductor protection at conduit terminations. De-energize all circuits before pulling conductors through dressed conduit ends. The bushing snaps into the conduit end by hand or with light tool pressure — do not force or strike with excessive force, as this may crack the insulated throat. Confirm the bushing is fully seated before pulling wire.
