The SOUTHWIRE 140 is a combination cable connector designed to join flexible metallic conduit, AC, MC, MCI-A, HCF, and NM cable to steel outlet boxes and other enclosures. Using a 2-screw clamp mechanism, the connector creates a secure, stable termination point for sheathed cable and flexible cord. The body is constructed from zinc, which resists corrosion and holds up in typical electrical installation environments. Available in a 3/8 inch trade size, it fits 1/2 inch knockouts on standard steel outlet boxes and enclosures. Licensed electricians rely on this type of fitting as a code-compliant solution for securing cable entries at enclosures.
The SOUTHWIRE 140 is suited for residential and light commercial electrical work where flexible metallic conduit or armored and non-metallic sheathed cable must be terminated at a steel outlet box or similar enclosure. The 2-screw clamp design accommodates a range of cable types in a single connector body, reducing the need for multiple connector types on a single job. It is a practical choice wherever AC, MC, MCI-A, HCF, or NM cable runs terminate at a junction or device box.
Designed for use with flexible metallic conduit, AC, MC, MCI-A, HCF, and NM cable at steel outlet boxes and enclosures with 1/2 inch knockouts.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit and verify absence of voltage before beginning work at any outlet box or enclosure. Insert the connector into the knockout, secure the locknut firmly, and tighten the clamp screws to hold the cable jacket without damaging the conductors. Do not over-tighten the clamp screws, as this can damage cable sheathing.
