The SOUTHWIRE 13058322 is a 50-foot roll of 12 AWG, 3-conductor Type UF-B underground feeder wire rated for direct earth burial and indoor wet or corrosive locations. This cable meets the NEC requirements for underground branch circuit wiring where conduit is not required. The insulation resists acids, alkalis, chemicals, lubricants, corrosive fumes, and groundwater. It is noncorroding, sunlight-resistant, and rated as non-combustion-supporting. Electricians reach for UF-B when running power to outbuildings, landscape lighting circuits, and similar outdoor branch circuit loads without installing conduit.
Type UF-B cable is suited for residential and light commercial branch circuit applications. Common installation scenarios include underground runs to detached garages, sheds, irrigation pumps, and exterior outlets. It is also approved for indoor use in wet or corrosive environments such as crawl spaces and utility areas where moisture exposure is expected. The 12 AWG conductors are sized for 20-amp branch circuits under standard NEC ampacity tables.
Designed for direct earth burial underground feeder and branch circuit wiring in residential and light commercial applications where NEC Article 340 permits the use of Type UF-B cable.
Installation of underground feeder cable must be performed by a licensed electrician and must comply with NEC Article 340 and all applicable local codes, including required burial depth. Always de-energize the circuit and verify absence of voltage at the panel before making connections. Avoid sharp bends or kinking during pulling, and protect the cable with conduit wherever it transitions above grade or through areas subject to physical damage.
