The SOUTHWIRE 13056701 is a 1000-foot roll of 10 AWG, 2-conductor Type UF-B underground feeder wire with ground, designed for direct earth burial and branch circuit wiring. This cable handles the demands of outdoor and underground installations where moisture, soil chemistry, and UV exposure would degrade standard wiring. The jacket is highly resistant to acids, alkalis, corrosive fumes, chemicals, lubricants, and groundwater. The cable is noncorroding, sunlight-resistant, and will not support combustion. It carries UL listing, making it code-compliant for residential and light commercial direct-burial applications.
Type UF-B cable is used where wiring must run underground to outbuildings, landscape lighting circuits, irrigation controls, exterior outlets, and similar branch circuit loads. It is also rated for indoor wet or corrosive locations, such as crawl spaces, pump rooms, and agricultural buildings. Licensed electricians install this wire in residential and light commercial projects governed by NEC Article 340, which covers underground feeder and branch-circuit cable. The 1000-foot roll suits full-run jobs without mid-run splices.
Designed for use as underground feeder and branch-circuit cable in direct earth burial installations and in wet or corrosive indoor locations per NEC Article 340 requirements.
Installation of underground feeder cable must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 340 and applicable local codes, including minimum burial depth requirements. Always shut off and lock out the circuit breaker before making any connections. Avoid running UF-B cable through conduit sections with sharp bends that could damage the jacket, and inspect the jacket for nicks or abrasions before backfilling. Do not use staples or fasteners that compress or pierce the outer jacket.
