The SOUTHWIRE 13055955 is a 12 AWG, 2-conductor UFW/G underground feeder and branch-circuit cable rated for direct earth burial and indoor wet or corrosive locations. Built for demanding environments, this cable resists acids, alkalis, corrosive fumes, chemicals, lubricants, and groundwater. The outer jacket is noncorroding, sunlight-resistant, and non-combustion-supporting. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this wire in residential and light commercial branch circuits where moisture, soil contact, or chemical exposure is a factor. The 250-foot roll format reduces splicing needs on longer runs. UL Listed per Underwriters Laboratories standards.
This cable is suited for direct-burial branch circuit applications including outdoor landscape lighting feeds, outbuildings, detached garages, irrigation system power runs, and similar installations requiring a listed underground feeder cable. It is also approved for indoor use in wet or corrosive locations such as crawl spaces, utility rooms, and industrial environments where moisture or chemical exposure is present. The 12 AWG conductor size supports standard 20-amp branch circuits typical in residential and light commercial wiring.
Designed as a UL Listed underground feeder cable for use in direct-burial branch circuit applications and wet or corrosive indoor locations per NEC Article 340 requirements.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 340 and applicable local codes governing underground feeder cable burial depth and routing. De-energize the circuit and verify lockout/tagout procedures before terminating or splicing. Minimum burial depth requirements vary by jurisdiction and installation type — consult NEC Table 300.5 and local AHJ requirements before trenching. Avoid sharp bends or kinking during installation to maintain jacket integrity.
