The SOUTHWIRE 1283 is a 3/4-inch PVC Type FSE conduit connector designed for use in electrical conduit installations. This fitting creates a secure, code-compliant termination point where PVC conduit meets an enclosure or junction box. The FSE (Female Snap-In End) design allows for fast, tool-free engagement at the box knockout, reducing installation time on the job. Electricians rely on this type of connector in both residential and light commercial wiring applications where PVC raceway systems are specified.
This connector is suited for 3/4-inch Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 PVC conduit runs terminating at panels, junction boxes, or enclosures. It is commonly installed in underground feeders, wet locations, and conduit systems where non-metallic fittings are required by the job spec or local code. The snap-in retention feature holds the connector in the knockout without additional hardware during rough-in, keeping the work moving on multi-box installations.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for use with 3/4-inch PVC conduit systems in residential and commercial electrical installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits in the enclosure before terminating conduit or pulling conductors. Insert the connector into the knockout until the snap-in tab seats fully, then secure PVC conduit using the appropriate solvent cement per the conduit manufacturer guidelines. Do not overtighten or modify the knockout opening, as this may compromise the fitting retention.
