The SOUTHWIRE 11600401 is a solid-core, single-conductor THHN/THWN building wire rated at 10 AWG and 30 amps, supplied in a 500-foot length. It features a thermoplastic insulation layer protected by a nylon jacket, with a yellow jacket color for easy circuit identification in the field. Rated for 600 volts and a maximum operating temperature of 194 degrees F, this wire handles both dry and wet location installations. It is used by licensed electricians for branch circuit wiring in residential and light commercial construction and retrofit work.
This wire is suited for use in conduit runs supplying 30-amp branch circuits, including circuits for HVAC equipment, water heaters, dryers, and similar loads. The solid copper conductor and nylon jacket make it appropriate for pulling through conduit in both indoor and outdoor wet-location applications. The yellow jacket color follows common color-coding conventions for 10 AWG conductors, aiding identification during rough-in and panel termination work.
Designed for use in conduit systems as a branch circuit conductor in residential and commercial electrical installations where THHN or THWN-rated single-conductor wire is specified.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit at the panel before terminating or splicing. This wire is rated for use in conduit only and should not be installed as open wiring or exposed to direct burial conditions. Verify conduit fill calculations per NEC Chapter 9 before pulling multiple conductors in a single raceway.
