The SOUTHWIRE 11595601 is a 10 AWG solid copper building wire rated for THHN and THWN applications, supplied in a 500-foot length. It carries a 30-amp rating at 600 volts and features thermoplastic insulation with a black nylon jacket. The solid single-conductor construction suits branch circuit wiring in conduit runs for residential and light commercial electrical work. Licensed electricians install this wire in accordance with NEC requirements for dry, damp, and wet locations where THHN or THWN-rated conductors are specified. The wire weighs approximately 18.5 pounds per 500-foot roll.
This wire is well-suited for branch circuit and feeder installations run through EMT, rigid metal conduit, PVC conduit, or other raceway systems. Typical applications include panel feeds, lighting circuits, and general-purpose 120-volt or 240-volt branch circuits in residential construction and light commercial projects. The black jacket color is standard for hot-leg identification in single-phase wiring. It is also rated for use in wet locations, making it appropriate for exterior conduit runs and underground conduit applications where the wire is not in direct contact with soil.
Designed for use as a general-purpose THHN or THWN-rated single conductor in conduit or raceway systems for residential and light commercial electrical installations.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in compliance with the current National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit or panel before pulling or terminating wire. Solid conductors are intended for fixed conduit runs and should not be used in applications requiring flexible movement. Observe conduit fill limits per NEC Chapter 9 when sizing conduit for this wire gauge.
