The SOUTHWIRE 10674003 is a 4 AWG stranded bare copper grounding wire rated for use in electrical grounding applications. The stranded construction provides flexibility for routing through conduit, around obstructions, and into grounding lugs or terminals. This wire meets ASTM specifications for copper conductors, confirming material quality and dimensional consistency. Each coil contains 198 feet of continuous wire with a 77 mil nominal diameter. At 27 pounds per coil, it is well suited for large grounding runs on commercial or residential electrical projects. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers.
This grounding wire is used wherever a bare copper equipment grounding conductor is required. Typical applications include grounding electrode conductors, equipment grounding runs, and bonding connections in service entrance panels, subpanels, and distribution equipment. The 198-foot length supports full runs without splices on most residential and light commercial installations. It is appropriate for use in conduit or direct burial where local code and soil conditions permit bare copper.
Designed as a standard 4 AWG bare stranded copper grounding conductor compatible with grounding lugs, terminals, and connectors rated for 4 AWG copper wire in residential and commercial electrical systems.
Installation of grounding conductors must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize the system and verify absence of voltage before making any connections. Use listed compression or mechanical lugs rated for bare copper and the appropriate AWG size. Do not nick or nick the strands during stripping, as conductor damage reduces the effective cross-section and may compromise the grounding path.
