The SOUTHWARK METAL TD_30X10X48 is a rectangular sheet metal trunk duct section manufactured from hot dip galvanized steel for use in forced-air HVAC distribution systems. Measuring 30 inches wide by 10 inches tall by 48 inches long, this trunk duct section connects to adjacent duct runs using a button snap-lock seam with S-cleat and drive connection. The cross-broken panel construction adds rigidity and reduces oil-canning in longer straight runs. HVAC sheet metal installers and mechanical contractors specify this type of fitting as the primary supply or return air trunk line in residential and light commercial air distribution systems.
This trunk duct section is suited for low-pressure supply and return air trunk applications in residential forced-air systems and light commercial HVAC installations. The 30 x 10 inch profile accommodates high-volume air distribution runs where duct sizing has been calculated per ACCA Manual D or equivalent load methodology. The galvanized steel construction makes it appropriate for attic, crawlspace, basement, and mechanical room installations where moisture resistance and long service life are required. Fabricated to SMACNA and ACCA applicable standards.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-construction trunk duct section for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC distribution systems using standard rectangular sheet metal ductwork with S-cleat and drive connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified sheet metal mechanic in accordance with SMACNA duct construction standards and local mechanical codes. Shut down the air handling unit and disconnect power before making connections to an existing duct system. S-cleat and drive connections should be sealed with UL 181-listed duct sealant or approved mastic at all joints per local code requirements. Support spacing should follow SMACNA guidelines for the duct size and installation orientation.
