The SOUTHWARK METAL SP10-26GA_6IN is a hot dip galvanized steel spiral pipe section used in low-pressure supply and return air duct systems. Manufactured from 26-gauge steel with a continuous spiral seam, this 6-inch diameter pipe measures 10 feet in length and provides a rigid, leak-resistant airflow passage. The galvanized finish resists corrosion in both conditioned and unconditioned spaces. Licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal contractors install this pipe as part of trunk-and-branch or radial duct layouts in residential and light commercial forced-air systems. It meets ACCA and SMACNA standards for duct construction and material thickness.
This spiral pipe is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC installations where a 6-inch round duct run is required. Common applications include supply branch runs from a main trunk, return air drops, and inline duct sections connecting air handlers, furnaces, and fan coil units to supply registers. The 10-foot length reduces the number of field joints needed in a straight run, keeping leakage points to a minimum. It is compatible with standard 6-inch round duct fittings, collars, take-offs, and flex duct connectors used in forced-air systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-construction component for standard 6-inch round duct systems built to ACCA and SMACNA specifications for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed sheet metal contractor or HVAC technician in accordance with SMACNA duct construction standards and applicable local mechanical codes. Power down the air handler or furnace before connecting to any live duct section tied to a running system. Secure joints with sheet metal screws and seal all seams with listed duct sealant or UL 181-listed tape per code requirements. Avoid over-compressing or crimping the pipe ends during fitting, as deformation reduces effective diameter and increases static pressure drop.
