The SOUTHWARK METAL EP15_7X6 is a full-tab, adjustable round-to-round sheet metal duct takeoff designed for branching airflow from a 7-inch diameter main duct to a 6-inch diameter branch duct. Fabricated from hot-dip galvanized steel, it delivers corrosion resistance suited for long-term installation in forced-air HVAC systems. The adjustable full-tab design allows the fitting to seat securely against the main trunk without sheet metal screws, simplifying field installation. HVAC sheet metal mechanics and residential installers are the primary trades working with this fitting.
This takeoff is used in residential and light commercial forced-air duct systems where a branch run must be tapped off a round main trunk. Typical applications include supply-air branch runouts in attic, crawlspace, or basement duct layouts. The round-to-round configuration suits systems using spiral or snap-lock round duct throughout. It conforms to ACCA and SMACNA standards, making it appropriate for duct systems designed and installed to those specifications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-construction fitting for round duct systems with a 7-inch diameter main trunk and a 6-inch diameter branch takeoff point, conforming to ACCA and SMACNA duct construction standards.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified sheet metal mechanics. Shut down the air handler and de-energize the system before cutting into any existing duct. The full-tab collar seats into a field-cut hole in the round trunk; secure with sheet metal screws and seal all joints with UL-listed duct mastic or metal-backed tape per SMACNA guidelines. Follow local mechanical codes for support spacing and duct sealing requirements.
