The SOUTHWARK METAL ATTRP_7IN is a 7-inch round saddle takeoff fitting fabricated from hot dip galvanized steel for use in sheet metal duct systems. This Air-Tite style fitting creates a branch connection off a main rectangular or round duct trunk, allowing supply air to be directed to a branch run. The saddle design seats directly against the duct wall and is cut in to form a secure, low-leakage tap. It is installed by HVAC technicians and sheet metal workers during new construction ductwork fabrication or system modifications.
This takeoff is suited for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems where branch duct connections are made off a main supply trunk. It is commonly used in applications requiring compliance with ACCA and SMACNA ductwork standards. The 7-inch round opening accommodates standard 7-inch branch duct or flex duct connections. Typical install locations include supply trunk branches running to individual rooms or zones in ducted split systems and air handler setups.
Designed as an OEM-style sheet metal duct fitting for use in residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC duct systems requiring a 7-inch round branch takeoff connection.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or certified sheet metal workers. The air handling system should be fully powered down and the blower disabled before cutting into the trunk duct. A hole saw or aviation snips are used to cut the trunk opening to match the saddle profile. Duct connections should be sealed per SMACNA and local mechanical code requirements using approved mastic or foil tape.
