The SOUTHWARK METAL ATTRP_6IN is a 6-inch round sheet metal duct saddle takeoff designed for branch connections in forced-air HVAC distribution systems. Fabricated from hot-dip galvanized steel, this Air-Tite saddle fitting delivers a secure, low-leakage connection where a branch duct splits from a main trunk. Licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal contractors install this fitting during new construction and system retrofit work where round branch runs are required off a rectangular or round main duct.
This saddle takeoff is suited for residential and light commercial forced-air systems. It is used wherever a 6-inch round branch run must be tapped into a main duct line, including supply trunk branches in air handler and furnace applications. The Air-Tite design helps minimize air leakage at the branch connection, supporting system efficiency and compliance with duct tightness requirements commonly specified on ACCA-designed systems.
Designed as an OEM-style sheet metal fitting for use with standard 6-inch round branch ductwork in residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC distribution systems.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified sheet metal contractors. The air handling system should be powered down and the air handler or furnace shut off before cutting into any existing duct. The saddle fitting is fastened to the main duct using sheet metal screws and sealed with listed duct sealant or mastic in accordance with SMACNA duct construction standards. Follow local mechanical codes and ACCA design guidelines for branch sizing and placement.
