The SOUTHWARK METAL ATSD_20IN is a round sheet metal duct takeoff fitting designed for branch connections in forced-air HVAC distribution systems. Built from hot dip galvanized steel, this Air-Tite unit measures 20 inches in diameter and ships with an integrated scoop and damper. The scoop improves airflow capture from the main trunk, while the damper allows for manual balancing of supply air to individual zones. HVAC sheet metal mechanics and duct installers use this fitting in new construction and retrofit ductwork where a controlled, sealed branch tap is required.
This takeoff is suited for residential and light commercial forced-air systems where a 20-inch round branch connection is called for. The Air-Tite construction supports low-leakage duct system requirements. The included damper makes it practical for zoning applications or systems where individual branch airflow balancing is part of the design. Installed in accordance with SMACNA and ACCA standards, it fits into trunk-and-branch duct layouts common in both horizontal and vertical air handler configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style sheet metal fitting for use in residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC duct systems requiring a 20-inch round branch takeoff connection.
Installation should be performed by a qualified sheet metal mechanic or licensed HVAC contractor. Power down the air handling system completely before cutting into an existing trunk or plenum. Secure the takeoff collar to the trunk using sheet metal screws and seal all joints with UL 181-listed mastic or foil tape to meet SMACNA leakage class requirements. Verify damper operation and set blade position before closing out the installation.
