The SOUTHWARK METAL ATDRP_7IN is a 7-inch round saddle-style sheet metal duct takeoff with an integrated damper, designed for supply air distribution in residential and light commercial HVAC duct systems. Constructed from hot dip galvanized steel, this Air-Tite saddle takeoff provides a secure, sealed branch connection off a main trunk duct. The built-in damper allows airflow to be balanced at the branch point, giving installers control over distribution without adding a separate balancing component. It is installed by sheet metal contractors and licensed HVAC technicians during new construction ductwork fabrication or retrofit trunk-and-branch system work.
This takeoff is suited for trunk-and-branch forced-air duct systems in residential construction and light commercial applications. The saddle design seats directly onto a rectangular or round trunk duct, and the Air-Tite construction helps minimize air leakage at the branch connection point. The 7-inch round outlet connects to standard 7-inch round flexible or rigid duct runs serving individual supply registers or diffusers. It meets ACCA and SMACNA applicable standards, making it appropriate for installations that require compliance with those duct design and construction guidelines.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation saddle takeoff for standard trunk-and-branch forced-air duct systems requiring a 7-inch round branch outlet with damper control.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or sheet metal contractors. The air handling system and any connected heating or cooling equipment must be powered down and the system de-pressurized before cutting into an existing trunk duct. Connections should be sealed with UL 181-listed mastic or metal-backed tape per SMACNA duct construction standards. The integrated damper blade should be set and locked to the desired position during system airflow commissioning.
