The SOUTHWARK METAL ATDRP_5IN is a 5-inch round saddle-style sheet metal duct takeoff with an integrated damper, designed for air distribution in forced-air HVAC systems. Constructed from hot-dip galvanized steel, it provides corrosion resistance in both residential and light commercial ductwork installations. The Air-Tite design minimizes air leakage at the branch connection point, and the built-in damper allows field adjustment of airflow volume to individual zones or rooms. This fitting is installed by licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal mechanics during system installation or retrofit work.
This takeoff is suited for residential and light commercial forced-air systems where a round branch duct needs to be tapped off a rectangular main trunk. The saddle configuration seats directly on the trunk duct, and the 5-inch round outlet connects to flexible or rigid round branch duct runs serving individual supply registers. It meets ACCA and SMACNA standards, making it appropriate for systems designed and installed to recognized industry guidelines.
Designed as an OEM-style sheet metal fitting for use with standard rectangular trunk duct in residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems requiring a 5-inch round branch takeoff.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or sheet metal mechanic. Power down the air handling unit and shut off the system before cutting into existing ductwork. Secure the saddle to the trunk duct with sheet metal screws and seal all joints with UL-listed duct sealant or mastic per SMACNA guidelines. Do not overtighten fasteners, as this can distort the fitting and compromise the Air-Tite seal.
