The SOUTHWARK METAL ATDRP_4IN is a 4-inch round saddle-style sheet metal duct takeoff with an integrated damper, built for branch connections in forced-air HVAC distribution systems. Constructed from hot-dip galvanized steel, this Air-Tite saddle takeoff delivers a durable, corrosion-resistant connection point between a main trunk duct and a 4-inch round branch run. The built-in damper allows airflow balancing at the takeoff point without requiring a separate balancing damper downstream. Licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal installers handle this fitting as part of new construction or duct renovation work.
This takeoff is suited for residential and light commercial forced-air systems where a 4-inch round branch needs to be tapped off a rectangular or flat-oval trunk duct. The saddle-mount design seats directly against the trunk wall and is secured before the round collar connects to flexible or rigid branch duct. The integrated damper makes it well suited for zoned systems or any installation where branch-level airflow adjustment is required at commissioning. It conforms to ACCA and SMACNA applicable standards, making it appropriate for installations where those guidelines govern duct fabrication and installation practices.
Designed as an OEM-style sheet metal fitting for use in residential and light commercial forced-air duct systems requiring a 4-inch round saddle takeoff connection off a main trunk duct.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified sheet metal workers in accordance with SMACNA duct construction standards and local mechanical codes. Power down and lock out the air handling system before cutting into any existing trunk duct. The saddle fitting should be secured to the trunk wall with sheet metal screws and all joints sealed with listed duct sealant or mastic per local code requirements. Do not use the integrated damper as a primary shutoff; it is intended for balancing only.
