The SOUTHWARK METAL ATD_7IN is a 7-inch diameter Air-Tite sheet metal duct takeoff with an integrated damper, fabricated from hot dip galvanized steel. It is designed to branch airflow from a main trunk duct to a branch run in forced-air HVAC distribution systems. The built-in damper allows the installer to balance or shut off airflow to individual zones or rooms without requiring a separate damper assembly. Licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal mechanics install this fitting during new construction or duct renovation work.
This takeoff is used in residential and light commercial duct systems where precise airflow control at the branch connection is required. The Air-Tite design reduces air leakage at the fitting, supporting duct system efficiency and compliance with energy codes. It is suited for low-pressure supply or return trunk duct installations built to SMACNA and ACCA standards.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 7-inch round branch duct connections in residential and light commercial forced-air duct systems built to SMACNA and ACCA standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified sheet metal mechanic. Shut down the air handling unit and lock out the system before cutting into an existing trunk duct. Secure the takeoff to the trunk with sheet metal screws and seal all joints with UL 181-listed mastic or foil tape per local mechanical code requirements. Set the integrated damper position and verify airflow balance after system startup.
