The SOUTHWARK METAL AT62_6IN is a 6-inch diameter sheet metal duct top takeoff designed to transition from a rectangular trunk duct to a round branch duct. Constructed from hot dip galvanized steel, it delivers corrosion resistance suited for long-term use in forced-air HVAC duct systems. The stick-on, Air-Tite design allows the fitting to adhere directly to the flat surface of a rectangular main trunk, creating a secure, low-leak connection point without the need for additional flanges or collars. HVAC installers and sheet metal fabricators use this fitting during new construction trunk-and-branch duct layouts.
This takeoff is used in residential and light commercial forced-air distribution systems where a rectangular main trunk feeds round branch runs. It mounts to the top of a rectangular duct and accepts a 6-inch round duct or flex connector on the branch side. The stick-on installation method simplifies layout on straight trunk runs and reduces field fabrication time. It is appropriate for supply-air applications in standard low-pressure duct systems built to SMACNA and ACCA standards.
Designed as an OEM-style sheet metal fitting for standard low-pressure forced-air trunk-and-branch duct systems built to SMACNA and ACCA specifications.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed sheet metal contractor or HVAC technician. Shut down the air handling unit and verify the system is depressurized before cutting into or modifying an existing trunk duct. The stick-on fitting should be applied to a clean, flat duct surface; use appropriate duct mastic or UL-listed foil tape at all seams per SMACNA sealing requirements. Refer to ACCA Manual D for branch sizing and placement guidance.
