The SOUTHWARK METAL 91_10X10 is a sheet metal duct box designed for floor register applications in residential and light commercial HVAC systems. Fabricated from hot dip galvanized steel, this duct box provides a durable, corrosion-resistant transition point between the supply duct and the floor register opening. The box measures 10 inches by 10 inches with an 11-inch depth, making it well suited for standard floor register cutouts. HVAC installers and sheet metal contractors use this type of duct box to terminate supply runs cleanly at finished floor level.
This duct box is used in forced-air heating and cooling systems where supply air is delivered through floor registers. It fits into standard floor framing cavities and accepts a 10 inch by 10 inch floor register. Typical installations occur in new construction and retrofit projects where a neat, code-compliant supply air termination is required at the floor plane. Manufactured to ACCA and SMACNA standards, it is appropriate for residential and light commercial ducted system applications.
Designed as an OEM-style sheet metal duct box for use with 10 inch by 10 inch floor registers in residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems built to ACCA and SMACNA standards.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed HVAC technician or sheet metal contractor. Shut down the air handling system before connecting or sealing the duct box into the supply trunk or branch run. Seal all joints with UL-listed duct sealant or approved metal tape per SMACNA guidelines to minimize air leakage. Ensure the box is properly supported and that the floor register opening is cut to the correct dimensions before securing the unit in place.
