The Southwark Metal 58_7X6 is a hot-dip galvanized steel sheet metal pipe reducer used to transition round ductwork from a 7-inch diameter to a 6-inch diameter. Built in a 3-piece construction and supplied without a crimp, it is designed for use in low-pressure HVAC air distribution systems. The galvanized steel finish resists corrosion in both residential and light commercial applications. Sheet metal workers and HVAC technicians install this fitting wherever a duct run must step down in diameter to balance airflow or match equipment connections.
This reducer is suited for supply and return trunk-to-branch transitions in forced-air heating and cooling systems. It fits into round galvanized duct assemblies and is commonly installed at air handlers, furnaces, fan coil units, and inline duct transitions. The no-crimp design means field crimping is required on the male end during installation to connect downstream sections. Fabricated to meet ACCA and SMACNA standards, this fitting integrates cleanly into duct systems designed and installed to those specifications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for round galvanized sheet metal duct systems requiring a 7-inch to 6-inch diameter reduction.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified sheet metal workers. Shut down the air handling system and de-energize the unit before opening any duct section. Field crimp the male end using appropriate sheet metal crimping tools before inserting into the downstream duct collar. Seal all joints with listed duct mastic or UL 181-rated tape per SMACNA guidelines and applicable mechanical codes.
