The SOUTHWARK METAL 52_6X5X4 is a hot dip galvanized steel sheet metal flue wye designed for joining round duct or flue pipe runs at a branch offset. Built to handle the demands of residential and light commercial venting and ductwork systems, this tee-style wye fitting connects a 6-inch main inlet to a 5-inch outlet and a 4-inch branch outlet. The hot dip galvanized construction provides corrosion resistance suited for B-vent, exhaust flue, and forced-air duct applications. Licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal contractors are the primary installers of this fitting type.
This wye fitting is appropriate for use in residential and light commercial HVAC duct systems and flue pipe assemblies where a three-way branch connection is required. It is well suited for gravity or forced-air exhaust venting configurations, as well as supply and return air distribution layouts that call for a reducing wye transition. The 6 x 5 x 4 inch sizing accommodates common round duct diameters found in residential installations.
Designed as an OEM-style sheet metal wye fitting compatible with standard round flue pipe and duct systems requiring a 6-inch by 5-inch by 4-inch three-way branch connection, per ACCA and SMACNA standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified sheet metal contractor in accordance with SMACNA duct construction standards and applicable local mechanical codes. Shut down the HVAC system and, where applicable, extinguish any connected combustion appliances before installing or modifying flue or duct fittings. Secure all joints with sheet metal screws and seal with UL-listed duct tape or mastic sealant appropriate for the application. Do not use this fitting in applications that exceed the pressure or temperature ratings of standard galvanized sheet metal ductwork.
