The SOUTHWARK METAL 28R_6X14X7 is a center-end sheet metal pipe boot designed to connect round duct to a rectangular floor or ceiling register opening. Fabricated from hot dip galvanized steel, this boot transitions a 7-inch diameter round collar to a 6-inch by 14-inch rectangular register opening. It is a standard component in residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC distribution systems. HVAC installers and sheet metal workers use it to terminate supply or return duct runs at floor, wall, or ceiling register locations. Meets ACCA and SMACNA standards for sheet metal ductwork fabrication.
This pipe boot is suited for new construction and retrofit supply-air distribution work where a round trunk or branch duct must terminate at a rectangular register. The center-end configuration means the round collar exits from the center of the rectangular boot, which is a common layout in residential forced-air systems with floor or ceiling register placement. Compatible with standard 6-inch by 14-inch registers and 7-inch round duct collars.
Designed for use with standard 6-inch by 14-inch floor, wall, or ceiling registers and 7-inch round duct branch connections in residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed HVAC technician or sheet metal worker. The system should be shut down and de-energized before making duct connections. Secure the rectangular boot flange to the subfloor or ceiling deck using appropriate fasteners, and connect the round collar to branch duct using sheet metal screws and mastic sealant or UL-listed foil tape per SMACNA guidelines. Do not use standard duct tape as a primary air seal.
