The SOUTHWARK METAL 28R_6X10X5 is a rectangular-to-round sheet metal duct end boot designed for residential and light commercial HVAC duct distribution systems. Fabricated from hot-dipped galvanized steel, this center-end boot transitions a 6 inch by 10 inch rectangular duct opening to a 5 inch round collar, allowing a floor or ceiling register to be seated directly over the boot. HVAC installers use this fitting to terminate supply duct runs at the register opening, providing a clean mechanical connection between the duct system and the finished register face. Construction meets ACCA and SMACNA standards for sheet metal ductwork fabrication.
This boot is suited for new construction and replacement duct installations in residential forced-air systems. It is positioned at the end of a rectangular trunk or branch duct and mates with a standard 5 inch round collar or flexible connector leading to the round duct runout. The center exit orientation positions the round collar at the midpoint of the rectangular face, which is the standard configuration for floor register boxes. It is installed by licensed HVAC contractors and sheet metal workers following SMACNA duct construction guidelines.
Designed as an OEM-style sheet metal fitting for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC supply duct systems requiring a rectangular-to-round end boot transition at a floor or ceiling register location.
This fitting is installed by licensed HVAC technicians or sheet metal workers. Power down the air handling unit and close the system dampers before beginning duct work at the register end. Sheet metal screws and UL 181-listed duct tape or mastic sealant should be used to secure and seal the boot to the adjoining duct section per SMACNA installation guidelines. Use appropriate gloves when handling cut sheet metal edges to avoid injury.
