The SOUTHWARK METAL 28R_4X10X7 is a center-end sheet metal pipe boot designed to transition from a rectangular duct opening to a round pipe at the register. Constructed from hot dip galvanized steel, this boot provides durable corrosion resistance in residential and light commercial duct systems. It measures 4 inches by 10 inches at the register opening (Size A) and accepts a 7-inch diameter round pipe at the outlet (Size B). HVAC technicians use this fitting to connect round branch runs to floor or ceiling register openings, completing the final leg of a forced-air distribution system. Fabricated to ACCA and SMACNA standards for sheet metal ductwork.
This pipe boot is suited for residential forced-air heating and cooling systems where a round duct branch terminates at a rectangular floor, wall, or ceiling register. The center-end configuration positions the round collar at the center of the boot, which is the standard layout for most straight-drop register installations. It is installed by licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal contractors as part of new construction or replacement ductwork.
Designed as an OEM-style sheet metal fitting for residential and light commercial forced-air duct systems requiring a rectangular-to-round transition at the register boot location.
Installation should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician or licensed sheet metal contractor in accordance with SMACNA and ACCA ductwork guidelines. Power down the air handling unit and verify the system is not under pressure before cutting into existing ductwork. Secure the boot to the duct branch and register collar using sheet metal screws and approved duct sealant or mastic to prevent air leakage. Follow local mechanical codes for support spacing and sealing requirements.
