The SOUTHWARK METAL 27R_2-1/4X14X7 is a straight rectangular-to-round sheet metal duct boot designed to transition airflow from a rectangular duct opening to a round collar at the register. It is fabricated from hot-dip galvanized steel for corrosion resistance in residential and light commercial HVAC duct systems. The rectangular opening measures 2.25 inches by 14 inches, and the round collar outlet is 7 inches in diameter. HVAC sheet metal installers and ductwork mechanics use this fitting during new construction and retrofit projects to terminate supply or return duct runs at floor, wall, or ceiling registers.
This boot fitting is suited for forced-air supply and return applications in residential and light commercial buildings. It connects rectangular duct runs to standard round register openings and is compatible with typical hard-pipe sheet metal duct systems built to ACCA and SMACNA standards. Installers commonly use this fitting at floor or wall termination points where a flat register face plate is required.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC duct systems built to ACCA and SMACNA specifications, where a straight rectangular-to-round register boot transition is required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified sheet metal mechanic. Power down the air handling system at the disconnect or breaker before working inside the duct system. Secure the boot to the duct trunk or branch with sheet metal screws and seal all joints with listed duct mastic or UL 181-rated tape per applicable SMACNA and local mechanical code requirements. Do not use duct tape in place of listed sealing materials in code-governed installations.
