The SOUTHWARK METAL 122SC-12 is a ductboard snaplock collar designed for connecting rigid fiberglass ductboard systems in residential and light commercial HVAC applications. This 12-inch collar provides a secure snaplock connection point where ductboard panels meet supply or return plenums, air handlers, or duct transitions. With a flange depth ranging from 1.5 to 2 inches, it seats firmly into ductboard cuts to create a tight, low-leakage joint. HVAC technicians and sheet metal installers use this type of collar to maintain system integrity and reduce air loss at duct entry points.
The 122SC-12 is suited for ductboard construction in residential forced-air systems and light commercial installations where fiberglass ductboard is the primary duct material. It is used at takeoff and collar transition points in supply and return duct systems. The snaplock design speeds up installation compared to conventional slip collars, making it a practical choice for new construction and replacement work where ductboard is already in use.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit collar for 12-inch openings in rigid fiberglass ductboard duct systems.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified sheet metal workers. Power down and lock out the air handling unit before beginning any duct work. The collar should be seated fully into the ductboard cutout and secured with foil tape meeting UL 181B standards at all seams and edges. Follow local mechanical codes and SMACNA ductboard fabrication guidelines for proper joint finishing.
