The SOLER PALAU SDB08MH1S is a downblast belt drive centrifugal roof exhauster designed for continuous commercial ventilation. It moves up to 1,051 CFM at zero static pressure using an 8-inch backward inclined wheel that spins at 1,950 RPM. The belt drive configuration keeps operating noise low, rated at 13.2 sones at 1/4-inch static pressure. Built for heavy-duty service, the unit ships with a single-speed open drip-proof motor, birdscreen, stainless steel exterior fasteners, and a built-in disconnect. The removable cover allows straightforward motor and belt access during routine maintenance. Licensed HVAC technicians and commercial mechanical contractors are the primary installers for this type of equipment.
The SDB08MH1S is suited for removing relatively clean exhaust air from commercial facilities including offices, warehouses, restaurants, and light industrial spaces. It installs on the roof curb, positioning the unit close to the exhaust source to allow shorter duct runs and more efficient airflow. It supports both ducted and non-ducted installations due to the non-overloading backward inclined wheel design and its higher static pressure capability, with a maximum static pressure of 7/8 inch WG. An optional automatic belt tensioner (part 100069) is available for factory installation at time of order, helping prevent over-tensioning of drive components. That option is compatible with SDB sizes 6 through 10 and STXB sizes 8 through 10.
The SDB08MH1S is a direct replacement candidate for Greenheck GB, Loren Cook ACEB, Pennbarry DX, Carnes VEBX, Acme PRN, and Fantech 5BDD series downblast belt drive roof exhausters of equivalent size and performance.
This unit is installed by licensed HVAC technicians or commercial mechanical contractors. Before servicing or mounting, disconnect and lock out all electrical power to the unit per NFPA 70 (NEC) requirements. The exhauster is designed for roof curb mounting with a 13.5-inch roof opening; verify the curb dimensions match before installation. Do not operate the unit without the birdscreen and weather cover properly secured.
