The SMC PNEUMATICS KQ2R07-11A is a push-to-connect plug-in reducer tube fitting designed for pneumatic and fluid-transfer plumbing systems. It connects tubing with a 1/4-inch outside diameter to a 3/8-inch stem, allowing a step-down transition between two different tube sizes without tools or thread sealant. Constructed from brass and polybutylene, the fitting handles a maximum working pressure of 145 psi and operates across a temperature range of 23 degrees F to 140 degrees F. Plumbers, pipefitters, and pneumatic system technicians install this fitting in compressed-air, vacuum, and compatible fluid-distribution lines.
This reducer fitting is suited for residential and light commercial pneumatic plumbing applications where tube size changes are required along a run. It installs inline wherever a 1/4-inch OD tube must transition to a 3/8-inch stem connection. The push-to-connect design allows fast, hand-tight assembly, reducing installation time on multi-drop compressed-air distribution systems, control-line plumbing, and similar low-to-medium pressure applications.
Designed as an OEM-style push-to-connect reducer for pneumatic and compatible fluid-transfer tubing systems using 1/4-inch OD tubing and 3/8-inch stem connections.
Installation is performed by plumbers or pneumatic system technicians. Depressurize and lock out the compressed-air or fluid line completely before inserting or removing the fitting. Ensure tubing is cut cleanly and squarely - a deburred, clean cut is required for the push-to-connect collet to seal correctly. Do not exceed the 145 psi rated working pressure or operate outside the specified temperature range.
