The SIOUX CHIEF sc-660-s is a mini-rester water hammer arrestor designed to suppress pressure spikes in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. When a valve closes suddenly, the momentum of moving water creates a rapid pressure surge that reverberates through the piping, stressing fittings, fixtures, and appliances. The sc-660-s uses an internal sealed air chamber to absorb that pressure spike before it can cause damage. This unit is sized AA and connects via a 1/2-inch male sweat fitting. It is installed by licensed plumbers during rough-in or retrofit service on copper water supply lines.

The sc-660-s is suited for residential and light commercial water supply systems where 1/2-inch nominal copper risers or legs feed washing machines, dishwashers, icemakers, solenoid-operated valves, or similar quick-closing fixtures.
