The SIOUX CHIEF sc-645xc2 is a straight adapter coupling designed to transition between F1807 PowerPEX crimp connections and CPVC pipe in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. At a nominal 1/2 inch size, this one-piece copper fitting connects PEX tubing on one end using a standard crimp ring method and threads onto or accepts a CPVC pipe on the other end. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of adapter when a system transitions from PEX distribution lines to CPVC branch runs or fixture connections. The copper construction provides reliable corrosion resistance and long service life in potable water applications.
This adapter is suited for new construction and retrofit plumbing projects where PEX and CPVC materials meet within the same system. It is commonly installed in residential water distribution, bathroom and kitchen supply lines, and anywhere a PEX-to-CPVC transition is required. The F1807 crimp end is compatible with standard PEX crimp rings and crimp tools, making it straightforward to integrate into an existing PEX rough-in. SIOUX CHIEF backs all fitting and tubing solutions with a 25-year warranty, applicable whether system connections are mixed or matched.
Designed as an OEM-style transition fitting for 1/2 inch F1807 PEX crimp systems connecting to CPVC plumbing. Specific compatible model lists were not provided in the product data; verify fitting dimensions and end styles against the existing installation before ordering.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting into existing pipe. Use a calibrated F1807 crimp tool and the appropriate copper or stainless crimp rings on the PEX end; follow the CPVC cement and primer procedure required by the CPVC manufacturer on the other end. Do not mix CPVC solvent cement with incompatible materials, and allow adequate cure time before restoring pressure to the system.
