The SIOUX CHIEF 868-p6 is a PVC dome-top floor drain strainer designed for commercial and residential drainage systems. It features a bottom outlet configuration with a solvent weld connection sized for 6-inch pipe. The dome-shaped polyethylene top provides a large free area of 49.65 square inches, supporting high-flow drainage while keeping debris out. The body is constructed from Schedule 40 PVC for durability in wet, corrosive environments. An epoxy-coated aluminum gravel guard and flashing clamp are included, making this unit suitable for roof drain and area drain applications. Licensed plumbers install this strainer as part of a compliant floor or area drain assembly.
The 868-p6 is suited for bottom-outlet drain installations in commercial kitchens, mechanical rooms, parking structures, and similar applications where a large-diameter, high-flow strainer is required. The 11-inch overall top diameter provides broad coverage at the drain opening, while the 8.75-inch top size fits standard drain bodies. The included gravel guard and flashing clamp simplify installation on built-up roofing or membrane systems where proper flashing integration is critical to a watertight assembly.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation strainer for 6-inch bottom-outlet floor and area drain bodies requiring a solvent weld PVC connection and dome-top cover. Compatible with SIOUX CHIEF model 868 series drain assemblies.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the applicable local plumbing code and IPC guidelines. Solvent weld the 6-inch outlet to the drain body using appropriate PVC primer and cement rated for the pipe schedule in use. Ensure the flashing clamp is properly seated and secured before applying roofing or membrane material when used in roof drain applications. Do not overtighten the clamping ring against the membrane, as this can compromise the waterproof seal.
