The SIOUX CHIEF 665XA2R300 is a 1/2-inch PEX-A tubing coil in red, supplied in a 300-foot length ready for residential and light commercial plumbing installations. PEX-A is manufactured using the Engel method, which produces a highly flexible tube with excellent memory characteristics, making it the preferred choice for potable water distribution, radiant floor heating, and hydronic systems. The red color coding identifies this coil as intended for hot water supply lines, simplifying rough-in identification during installation. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters rely on this tubing format for its ease of handling and compatibility with expansion-style fittings.
This coil is suited for hot water distribution runs in residential new construction and remodel projects, as well as light commercial applications. The 300-foot coil length minimizes joints on longer runs, reducing potential leak points throughout a system. Typical applications include domestic hot water branch and trunk lines, snowmelt systems, and radiant heating loops where flexibility and freeze-damage recovery are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation tubing for 1/2-inch PEX-A plumbing and hydronic systems. Use with fittings and connection methods rated and listed for PEX-A tubing at the applicable diameter.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and ASTM F876/F877 standards for PEX tubing. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before making any connections. Use only tools and fittings rated for PEX-A tubing at 1/2-inch nominal size; do not mix fitting types across connection methods unless specifically listed for combined use. Support tubing at intervals required by the applicable code to prevent sagging and stress at fittings.
