The SIOUX CHIEF 665x2b100 is a 1/2-inch Type B crosslinked polyethylene (PEX-B) tubing coil, 100 feet in length, color-coded blue for cold-water identification. It is manufactured to SDR-9 wall dimensions and meets ASTM F876 and ASTM F877 standards, making it suitable for use with any ASTM-approved PEX connection system. This tubing is designed for potable hot and cold water distribution in residential and commercial plumbing systems. It is also approved for select non-potable applications where local codes permit. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this product.
This tubing coil is used in residential and light commercial water distribution systems where a flexible, corrosion-resistant alternative to copper or CPVC is required. The blue color coding helps distinguish cold-water lines from hot-water (red) or general-purpose (white) runs. It is compatible with any ASTM-approved connection system, including crimp, clamp, and expansion-style fittings sized for 1/2-inch CTS PEX tubing. The coil format simplifies routing through framed walls, floor assemblies, and crawl spaces during rough-in.
Compatible with any ASTM-approved PEX connection system for 1/2-inch CTS PEX tubing, including crimp, clamp (ear-style), and expansion-type fittings. Designed for use in potable hot and cold water distribution systems and approved non-potable applications per local code authority.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local amendments. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the system before cutting or connecting tubing. Use only tools rated and designed for the specific connection type being used (crimp ring, clamp, or expansion). Avoid kinking the tubing during routing; use bend supports or bend guides at direction changes to maintain minimum bend radius.
