The SIOUX CHIEF 660-q2b MiniRester is a straight-configuration water hammer arrestor designed to eliminate the banging and pressure surges that occur when fast-closing valves shut off water flow. The unit is rated for 1/2-inch PDQ (push-to-connect) connections and is manufactured to no-lead standards, meeting compliance requirements for potable water systems. This arrestor absorbs the shock wave created by sudden flow stoppage, protecting pipe joints, fittings, and connected appliances from repetitive hydraulic stress. It is supplied in bulk format, making it well suited for plumbing contractors stocking multiple units for residential or light commercial installs.
The 660-q2b is used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems wherever fast-closing solenoid valves, washing machine valves, dishwasher supply lines, or similar fixtures are present. The straight body configuration allows inline installation along supply lines with minimal space requirements. Plumbers working on new construction, remodel, or service calls will find the PDQ no-lead fitting format compatible with standard push-to-connect plumbing systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install water hammer arrestor for 1/2-inch PDQ push-to-connect residential and light commercial potable water plumbing systems.
Water hammer arrestors are installed by licensed plumbers and must comply with local plumbing codes, including IPC and IAPMO guidelines for arrestor placement near fast-closing valves. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before making any connections. The PDQ push-to-connect fitting requires that pipe ends be clean, deburred, and fully inserted to the depth mark for a proper seal. Do not overtighten or use pipe thread sealant on push-to-connect fittings.
