The SIOUX CHIEF 654-CC is a water hammer arrestor designed to absorb the pressure shock that occurs when fast-closing valves suddenly stop water flow in a supply line. When a solenoid valve, dishwasher, or washing machine inlet valve slams shut, the resulting pressure wave can rattle pipes and damage fittings over time. The 654-CC uses a sealed piston chamber to cushion that surge and protect the system. It is sized for 1-inch lines and features CPVC socket ends for direct solvent-welded connections into CPVC supply piping. Installation is handled by licensed plumbers on both residential and light commercial projects.
The 654-CC is suited for residential and light commercial potable water systems where CPVC distribution piping is already in use. Typical installations include laundry supply lines, dishwasher branches, and any branch serving quick-closing automatic valves. The CPVC socket configuration allows this arrestor to be installed inline without adapters in CPVC systems, keeping the connection clean and leak-resistant. The 1-inch size addresses higher-flow branch or main line applications where smaller arrestors would be undersized.
Designed as an OEM-style inline replacement or new-installation water hammer arrestor for 1-inch CPVC potable water supply systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting in the arrestor. Solvent-weld connections require properly primed and cleaned CPVC surfaces and must fully cure before the system is repressurized. Orient the arrestor per manufacturer guidance, as some piston-type units are position-sensitive.
