The SIOUX CHIEF 641WP433 is a PPSU expansion tee fitting designed for F1960 PEX-A tubing systems. PPSU (polyphenylsulfone) is a high-performance thermoplastic well suited to hot and cold potable water distribution. This tee connects a 1-inch run to two 3/4-inch branch lines using the expansion method, where the fitting is inserted after the PEX-A tubing end is expanded with a compatible expansion tool. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in residential and light commercial plumbing rough-in work where PEX-A distribution systems are specified.
This fitting is used in PEX-A water distribution systems in residential and light commercial construction. The F1960 expansion connection style is common in new construction and remodel plumbing where PEX-A tubing is run from a manifold or main line to branch points serving fixtures. The 1-inch by 3/4-inch by 3/4-inch configuration is a standard reducing tee used when transitioning from a main supply trunk to smaller branch runs.
Designed for use with F1960 PEX-A tubing systems. This fitting requires PEX-A tubing and an F1960-compliant expansion tool; it is not compatible with PEX-B or PEX-C tubing or crimp and clamp connection methods.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and ASTM F1960 standards. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before beginning work. Use only a calibrated F1960 expansion tool sized to match each tubing diameter; do not attempt to force the fitting without proper expansion. Allow expanded tubing ends adequate time to contract fully around the fitting before pressurizing the system.
