The SIOUX CHIEF 641px322 is a PPSU polymer PEX crimp tee fitting designed for potable water plumbing and hydronic heating connections. Manufactured to ASTM F2159 standards and compatible with ASTM F876 PEX tubing, this fitting connects a 3/4 inch run to two 1/2 inch branches using either standard copper crimp rings or V-Sleeves. The PPSU polymer body is produced in white to allow visual detection of chemical exposure or UV degradation. A patented set of positioning fingers aligns the crimp ring or V-Sleeve precisely over the sealing barbs, reducing the chance of installation error. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians install this fitting in residential and light commercial systems.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial potable water distribution and in-floor or baseboard hydronic heating systems. The 3/4 inch x 1/2 inch x 1/2 inch tee configuration is commonly used where a main distribution line reduces to two branch supply runs. It is part of the SIOUX CHIEF AccuCrimp PPSU fitting and manifold system, which covers 1/2 inch, 3/4 inch, and 1 inch connection sizes, giving installers a consistent fitting family across an entire project.
Approved for use with ASTM F876 PEX tubing using either copper crimp rings or V-Sleeves. Part of the SIOUX CHIEF AccuCrimp PPSU fitting and manifold system covering 1/2 inch, 3/4 inch, and 1 inch connection sizes.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and ASTM F2159 guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before cutting into any existing line. Use a calibrated PEX crimp tool for copper crimp rings or the appropriate V-Sleeve tool to ensure the ring or sleeve seats fully over the barbs at the position indicated by the fitting fingers. Inspect the white polymer body for any discoloration before installation, as discoloration may indicate prior chemical or UV exposure.
