The SIOUX CHIEF 608-l2138 is a copper stub out elbow from the 608 Series, combining a stub out, cap, and elbow into a single full-flow fitting. Constructed from Type L copper, it delivers a tight-radius bend without thinning the tube wall, preserving full flow through the fitting. Rated to 2900 psig maximum working pressure, it is built for demanding residential and light commercial plumbing applications. The female sweat end connections accept standard 1/2 inch copper tubing. Licensed plumbers and journeymen handle installation as part of rough-in work for water supply systems. This fitting is NSF-61 certified and Lead Law compliant, meeting code requirements in potable water systems across most jurisdictions.
The 608-l2138 is suited for residential and commercial water supply rough-in work where a stub out is required at a wall, floor, or cabinet penetration. Its 13 inch length accommodates standard wall depths and positions the stub end for connection to shutoff valves using sweat, push-fitting, or compression valve types. This fitting is manufactured in the USA and is appropriate for use in new construction and renovation projects where code-compliant, lead-free copper fittings are required.
Designed for use with 1/2 inch copper tubing in potable water supply systems. Compatible with sweat, push-fitting, and compression-style shutoff valves at the stub end.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before beginning any work. Sweat connections require a torch, lead-free solder, and flux applied per the fitting manufacturer's guidance and applicable local plumbing code, including IPC and IFGC references where natural gas or dual-use walls are involved. Do not over-heat the fitting during soldering, as excessive heat can compromise the fitting geometry.
