The SIMPSON STRONG-TIE SD9112R100 is a 9-gauge structural connector screw designed for use with Simpson Strong-Tie connectors and hardware. The 1/4-inch hex head nearly eliminates cam-out and reduces the risk of head stripping during installation. An optimized shank is sized to fit the fastener holes in Simpson Strong-Tie connector plates without modification. Patented serrated threads lower driving torque for faster, more consistent installation. The sharp point starts quickly without predrilling on typical dimensional lumber. This 100-count box ships with a hex drive bit included.
These screws are intended for interior and most exterior structural applications including joist hangers, post caps, post bases, straps, and other Simpson Strong-Tie hardware. The mechanically galvanized coating provides corrosion resistance suitable for most exterior conditions. Licensed contractors, framers, and general trade professionals typically use these when installing structural connectors in residential and light commercial wood-frame construction.
Designed for use with Simpson Strong-Tie structural connectors and hardware requiring a 9-gauge structural connector screw with a 1/4-inch hex drive. Suitable for interior and most exterior applications per manufacturer guidance.
Installation is typically performed by licensed framers, contractors, or structural trades using a hex-drive impact driver or drill. Verify that the connector hardware is properly positioned and fastened per applicable building code requirements before driving screws. Follow local building code and the applicable load tables provided by the connector manufacturer for required fastener count and placement. Do not substitute with standard wood screws where structural connector screws are specified.
