This current transformer is intended for use with AC ammeters in panel meter installations. The donut configuration allows the primary conductor to pass through the center window without any direct electrical connection to the transformer body, simplifying installation in existing panels and switchgear. Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements. De-energize the circuit before routing the primary conductor through the transformer window or terminating the secondary leads. The secondary output terminals must never be left open-circuited while the primary conductor is energized, as this can generate dangerous high voltages. Verify the connected ammeter burden does not exceed the 2 VA rating before placing the system in service.
