The SIMPLIFIRE SF-BI36-EB is a 36-inch built-in electric fireplace designed for wall-framed or masonry fireplace installation in residential settings. The unit produces up to 10,000 BTU/h when hardwired to a 240V dedicated circuit and 4,800 BTU/h on a standard 120V supply, drawing 11.7 amps at either voltage. The firebox features LED flame technology with four selectable flame effects, eliminating bulb replacement over the life of the unit. A blower is included, and thermostatic control with a programmable timer from 30 minutes up to 9 hours in 1-hour increments comes standard. A full-function multi-feature remote control is included. Installed by electricians or qualified contractors, this unit is intended as a supplemental heat source only.
The SF-BI36-EB is suited for residential living rooms, bedrooms, or finished basements where a clean, flush-mount fireplace appearance is desired. It frames into new construction walls or drops into an existing masonry firebox opening. Front-facing framing requires 38 inches wide by 11.625 inches deep. Framing height is 33.688 inches for 120V installations and 35.688 inches for 240V hardwired installations, which require a minimum of 2 inches clearance above the firebox top. Corner installation is also supported with additional framing dimensions per the installation instructions. A black front trim piece, model SF-EF36-BK, is available separately and adds a 2-inch overhang to cover drywall transitions.
Designed for built-in installation into new wall-framed openings or existing masonry fireplace surrounds. Optional trim kit SF-EF36-BK is sold separately for a finished front-facing appearance.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for dedicated appliance circuits. Power down and confirm the circuit is de-energized before making any wiring connections. For 240V hardwired installations, verify a minimum 2-inch clearance above the top of the firebox is maintained. Sub-floor or pre-construction installs require additional framing height to account for finished flooring thickness; consult the installation instructions for exact framing dimensions before rough-in.
