The SILENT CALL DB1-SS is a wired doorbell transmitter operating at 418 MHz, designed to integrate a standard wired doorbell button into a SILENT CALL wireless alerting system. When the doorbell button is pressed, the transmitter sends a 418 MHz radio frequency signal to compatible receivers or alert devices throughout the coverage area. This unit is sold individually and is well suited for installation by low-voltage technicians, alarm and life-safety professionals, or qualified electricians working on assistive notification and fire accessory systems.
The DB1-SS is intended for residential and light commercial applications where a wired doorbell must be connected to a wireless notification system. It is particularly common in assistive listening and alerting environments where visual or vibrating receivers are used to notify occupants who are deaf, hard of hearing, or otherwise require alternative alert methods. The transmitter bridges existing wired doorbell wiring to a wireless RF network without requiring a full system rewire.
Designed as an OEM-style wired doorbell transmitter for use with SILENT CALL 418 MHz wireless alerting and notification receiver systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage technician or qualified electrician familiar with doorbell and assistive alerting systems. Before beginning work, disconnect power to the existing doorbell transformer to eliminate shock risk. Follow all applicable local electrical codes and the manufacturer wiring instructions when connecting the transmitter leads to the existing doorbell circuit. Do not exceed the transmitter input voltage rating specified in the product manual.
