The SIGNAMAX INC. KJS458TL-C5E is a Cat5e toolless screened keystone jack designed for structured cabling installations. This insert provides a shielded termination point for Cat5e horizontal runs, supporting data and voice network infrastructure in wall plates, patch panels, and surface-mount boxes. The toolless design eliminates the need for a punchdown tool, allowing technicians to terminate conductors quickly by hand. The screened construction helps reduce electromagnetic interference, making it suitable for environments where signal integrity is a priority. Network installers and low-voltage technicians are the primary trades that work with this type of component.
The KJS458TL-C5E is suited for residential and light commercial structured wiring projects. It fits standard keystone-style wall plates, surface-mount enclosures, and patch panels that accept 110-style keystone inserts. Typical applications include office data drops, hospitality network ports, and any installation where a Cat5e screened termination is required at the outlet end of a horizontal cable run. The toolless termination method is particularly useful in retrofit and renovation work where speed and convenience matter.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install component for standard keystone-format Cat5e screened jack positions in wall plates, patch panels, and surface-mount enclosures that accept 110-style keystone inserts.
Installation is performed by low-voltage technicians or structured cabling installers in accordance with TIA-568 standards for Cat5e horizontal cabling. De-energize any powered patch panels or PoE switches before handling connected patch cords. Maintain minimum bend radius on the incoming cable and limit untwisting of pairs to no more than what is necessary for termination, per Cat5e channel performance requirements. Verify shield continuity and proper grounding of the screened jack to the panel or wall plate ground path after installation.
