The SIGMA 819907445 is a standard hex head pipe bushing conforming to FIG 3383, designed to reduce a 1-1/2 inch female NPT fitting down to a 1 inch male NPT connection. Constructed from malleable iron with a galvanized finish, this bushing is rated for 150 lb service pressure. The hex head profile allows wrench engagement for reliable torque during installation. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in threaded pipe assemblies wherever a concentric size reduction is needed at a junction point in the line.
This bushing is suited for residential and commercial plumbing, fire protection, and general industrial piping systems that use standard 150 lb threaded malleable iron fittings. The male NPT by female NPT end configuration makes it a direct-thread reducer, threading into a larger female fitting while accepting a smaller male pipe or fitting on the opposite end. It is commonly installed in water supply lines, low-pressure steam systems, air lines, and similar threaded pipe networks where galvanized iron components are specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for 150 lb malleable iron threaded pipe systems using NPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC. Shut off and depressurize the pipe system completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before makeup, and tighten to a snug fit using a pipe wrench on the hex head — avoid overtightening, which can crack malleable iron fittings. Inspect threads for damage before installation.
