The SIGMA 819907049 is a FIG 3383 standard hex head pipe bushing used to reduce a larger threaded pipe opening to a smaller pipe size. The external male NPT thread is sized at 1-1/4 inches and the internal female NPT thread is sized at 3/4 inches, allowing a direct transition between two pipe sizes within a threaded piping system. Constructed from malleable iron with a galvanized finish, this bushing carries a 150 lb pressure rating. It is a widely used fitting in plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical piping systems where a threaded pipe size reduction is required.
This bushing is suited for residential and commercial plumbing, HVAC hydronic piping, and industrial pipe systems where a threaded reduction is needed at a branch, valve, or equipment connection. The hex head profile allows installation and removal with a standard pipe wrench or open-end wrench, which is useful in tight spaces where a hex fitting provides a more reliable grip than a flush-pattern bushing. The galvanized coating helps resist corrosion in typical wet service environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard 150 lb malleable iron threaded piping systems using NPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes and the International Plumbing Code. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten, as excessive torque can crack malleable iron fittings.
