The SIGMA 819907007 is a FIG 3383 standard hex head pipe bushing designed to reduce pipe thread connections from a larger nominal size to a smaller one. This fitting transitions a 1-1/4 inch male NPT thread down to a 1 inch female NPT thread, allowing installers to adapt pipe runs without adding excessive fittings or couplings. Rated at 150 lb, it is constructed from malleable iron with a hot-dip galvanized finish that provides corrosion resistance in wet and exposed service environments. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this bushing in threaded piping assemblies for water, gas, and general service applications.
This bushing is suited for residential and light commercial piping systems where a threaded reduction fitting is required inline. The hex head design provides a flat bearing surface for wrench engagement, making it straightforward to torque into place without slipping. Common install scenarios include branch takeoffs, equipment connections, and service drops where the supply pipe size exceeds the inlet size of a valve, trap, or fixture connection. The galvanized finish makes it appropriate for use in damp mechanical rooms, underground chases with vapor exposure, or outdoor utility applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-stock fitting for 150 lb class malleable iron threaded piping systems using NPT connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters working on threaded piping systems. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply listed thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads per applicable IPC or IFGC requirements before makeup. Do not over-tighten; use the hex flats with a properly sized wrench to achieve a snug, leak-free joint without cracking the fitting.
