The SIGMA 819906645 is a hex head pipe bushing used to reduce a 1-inch female NPT fitting down to a 3/4-inch male NPT connection in threaded piping systems. Rated at 150 lb, it is constructed from malleable iron with a galvanized finish that provides corrosion resistance in damp or exposed environments. The hex head design allows for easy installation and removal with a standard wrench. This type of fitting is a staple in mechanical piping systems across HVAC, plumbing, gas distribution, and light industrial applications where pipe size transitions are required at threaded joints.
This bushing is suited for use in residential and light commercial piping systems where a threaded reducer is needed at a branch, manifold, or equipment connection point. The MNPT x FNPT configuration allows it to thread directly into a larger female-threaded fitting or valve while accepting a smaller male-threaded pipe or fitting on the outlet side. It is commonly installed by licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians during new construction and retrofit work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install fitting for standard 150 lb malleable iron threaded pipe systems using NPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local codes and IFGC or IPC requirements. Shut off the water supply or isolate the gas line and relieve system pressure before installing or removing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads prior to assembly. Do not over-tighten, as malleable iron fittings can crack under excessive force.
